Dylan Pieper is a data scientist in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh. He received his M.A. (2020) from the University of Northern Iowa, Department of Psychology with a specialization in social psychology and statistical computing.
His work bridges data science, software engineering, and research. He analyzes complex data sets ranging from health records to criminal case data, while building practical business tools for staff and grant management. He develops software for big data workflows, machine learning tools for prediction and text classification, and custom survey applications. His research explores the intersections of public health and cultural norms, substance use and harm reduction, and political shifts and threat management.
